meet our directors

All of our camp directors are full-time ministers who at churches from across California, serving and loving on the communities they are apart of. We believe that this gives us a unique and valuable glimpse into the spiritual and developmental needs of the teens who come to SoCal Teen Camp. Our camp directors meet throughout the year to pray for our students and staff, develop messages, plan activities, and recruit high-quality staff who are dedicated to seeing students grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Michael Wexler

Michael Wexler is the Youth and Young Adult Minister at the Mission Viejo Church of Christ. He has been passionately serving in various Youth Ministry positions since his freshman year at Pepperdine University. Having served almost 6 years in his current position, his love for Youth Ministry has only grown exponentially. He loves helping teens discover the unconditional love that God has for them and one of his favorite moments is when the lightbulb goes off and he can tell that students are starting to really understand what an incredible thing it is to have a relationship with the God of the universe. When Michael is not working, he enjoys watching sports of all kinds, but mostly baseball (Go Dodgers!) and spending time with his family and friends. Michael spent his summers since the beginning of High School attending SoCal Teen Camp, first as a camper and then as a staff member. He is incredibly honored and humbled to now step into his first year as a director at a camp that has had such a major impact on his own life and faith journey!
